Next to your Mileo price, we show the observed public price for exactly the same flights. Here is where it comes from, how the difference is calculated, and when we do not show it.
The observed public price is the lowest price we found, at the time of your search, for exactly the same flights on sites that sell to the public: airlines and online travel agencies.
It is a price charged by other sellers. It is not a former price of Mileo, and we never present it as one: no “sale”, no “was” price, no strikethrough price, no “best price guaranteed”. It is a comparison, not a price reduction.
For each search, we query several sources of public prices at the same time: flight comparison engines, airline sites and online travel agencies. When several sources offer the same flights, we keep the lowest price: it is the most cautious choice for the comparison.
Airline prices change all the time. The time of the observation is shown next to each comparison. An observed price can be used for 120 minutes; after that, we run the search again before any booking.
Your Mileo price comes from our negotiated rates: it is the observed public price less a percentage that varies by airline, dates and route. Some flights have none and stay at the public price.
For each booking, BEBEW AGENCY LLC keeps the observed public price, its sources, the time of the observation and the pricing rule applied. Comparisons shown without a booking are kept for 12 months. These records let us justify each comparison on request.
